The Story of Sinnuet:

    As a young bird, Sinnuet was constantly teased for being flightless, since she was the only cassowary in the Bird Monastery. Both of her parents had died while she was still young, leaving her to be taken in by the Monk elders. They trained her intensively in hand-to-hand combat, and taught her about their long history. She was trained to be the perfect monk, her talent, wit, and intelligence ensuring her a high position. Her only drawback was that she was a very angry person. As an adolescent, she was frequently getting into fights, and was oftentimes the one who caused them. She would seek out a reason to hurt others, and would then proceed to beat them severely.

    Despite that though, she completed her training at a very young age, entering the ranks with the other Bird Monks. However, being promoted did nothing for her bellicose personality, and only meant that she would instead pick fights with other Monks. This was soon noticed by the higher-ranking Monks who had been training her and, at the age of eighteen, she was removed from the ranks of the Bird Monks.

    This infuriated her and she left, vowing that she would have revenge on those who had removed her from her rightful station. Her first choice was to go immediately to Zowizu's Empire and prove herself there. King Zowizu was impressed as much by her passionate nature as by her supreme fighting skills, and he quickly employed her as his own special-operations fighter.

    This excited her, and she hoped that she would be given the mission of assassinating the leadership of the Monastery. However, her first mission wasn't against the Bird Monks but instead against the wild animals of the jungle. King Zowizu knew that in order to defeat the Bird Monks, he had to take control of the jungle and use it for himself. Despite the importance of this mission, the fact that she was sent away on a mission that wasn't against the Monastery directly angered her further.

    She easily defeated the sole protector of the jungle, a powerful creature named FightingBear, and she took out her anger on the other wild animals that she subdued. Within days the entire jungle was hers to command, her strength and skill scaring any who dared oppose her. She still wanted to fight against the Bird Monks, but was content to hunt and kill other animals instead. She made a sport of it during her months of command, until FightingBear returned to challenge her again.

    This time, he proved to be the better, despite Sinnuet's burning anger that she put into each of her kicks, and despite the years she had spent training tirelessly. In the end, she was just the frightened, bullied little girl that she had been when she started, no longer holding the strength to keep fighting. She had no one to support her, no one to love her, and that knowledge hurt her more than any blow she had ever faced.
