The Story of SleekPanther:

As the son of David, the captain of the SleekPanther Crew, James was raised as a pirate. He was taught to fight, sail, and work as a team by the friendly crew. His father was supportive of his growth, and tought him the intricities of captaining.

When James was twelve though, Raeb-Dom, a mad rogue from the city of Ethosium 2,500 years prior assassinated Captain David. James was distraught, but his crew helped him to recover. First Mate Felix became the new captain, and became James's surrogate father. He helped to teach James right and wrong, and was also supportive of James as he grew older. As he did grow, he became closer to each of his crewmates, especially Wolfgang.

Soon after he turned sixteen, however, Raeb-Dom returned to kill Felix. As James watched Felix die, he was filled with rage. He became the captain and spent all of his time searching for the assassin. At first he was peaceful, seeking what was best for everyone, and forgiving those who didn't help him. His crew, each loving him as their own son, followed him, hoping to help him find his way. As more and more searches turned unfruitful though, he began to resort to violence. He would attack villages that didn't give him the information he sought, and he would kill those who opposed him.

At this, his crew saw that something was wrong and attempted to stop him. They attempted to convince James to give up his hunt using reason. Upon seeing that his crew wouldn't support him any further, James took the Shadow's Bane sword and set out to find Raeb-Dom on his own. Wolfgang wouldn't let him go, though. Wolfgang, the man who had grown to be James's closest friend, stood between him and his goal. Thus, James attacked, leaving Wolfgang injured as he left.

Eventually, he did find Raeb-Dom, but in a fight, James proved to be the lesser. As he saw his death was imminant, he realized what he had done in his quest for revenge. He was truly sorry, and desired nothing more than to make things right. It was in this moment that Raeb-Dom regained temporary sanity and slayed himself. James returned to his crew and apologized.

James remained as captain until he sought to finish the adventure his father started in fighting the armies of the Shadows of Corruption. He entered GreatBeasts and left Wolfgang in charge until the Shadow Infection, in which James returned to the crew in order to protect them from the encroaching apocalypse.
